The BAA Registration Division is formed for the purpose of setting up a system of registration of Aviaries, Partnerships, Strains, Budgerigars and Pedigrees.
1. A Champion Budgerigar is: Any BAA registered budgerigar that has won first through tenth Best In Show, Best Opposite Sex In Show, Best Young In Show or Best Young Opposite Sex In Show at any BAA open or breeders show judged by a fully accredited Budgerigar Judge. Additionally, any budgerigar that has earned three or more challenge certificates shall be eligible for registration as a champion. The prefix CH shall denote champion status on the pedigree form.
2. A Grand Champion Budgerigar is: Any BAA registered budgerigar that has earned a total of 30 points in BAA shows, as described above, shall be awarded the title of Grand Champion which will be denoted by the prefix GR CH on the pedigree form.
Evidence of any awards must be supported by an official BAA Show Report, posted on the BAA web site, or published in the BAA Journal and submitted to the Registrar on the BAA Budgerigar Registration form. Applications must be made within twelve months of the date of show at which said budgerigar became qualified.
(During the first year after adoption, applications may be made retroactively for the past three years (2009) provided the qualifying show reports are posted on the official BAA Web Site or provided to the Registrar for verification.)
3. Points: Points shall be credited to best in show winners as follows: BIS -10 points, 2nd BIS - 9 points, 3rd BIS - 8 points, 4th BIS - 7 points, 5th BIS - 6 points, 6th BIS - 5 points, 7th BIS - 4 points, 8th BIS - 3 points, 9th BIS - 2 points, 10th BIS - 1 point. Best Opposite Sex In Show shall earn 5 points. Best Young and Best Young Opposite Sex In Show shall earn 3 points. Challenge Certificate winners shall earn 1 point per show.
It is the responsibility of each club that holds a BAA sponsored show to complete an official BAA Show Report and forward a copy of same to all officers listed on the BAA Show report and to the Registrar. Such reports should be sent as soon as possible, but not later than 30 days following the show date. The officiating Judge should check all show reports for accuracy. These show reports are necessary for validating any registration applications; without them, no registrations can be completed.

FEES
a. Registration of Aviary or Strain - $20.00
b. Transfer of Registration of Aviary or Strain - $10.00
c. Registration of Champion Budgerigars - $3.00
d. Addition of subsequent qualifying wins toward Grand Champion Certificate submitted on the BAA Budgerigar Registration form (per submission) - $2.00
e. Registration of Grand Champion Budgerigars - $2.00
f. Initial registration for Grand Champion Budgerigar that hasn’t been previously registered as a Champion - $5.00
g. Transfer record of ownership of individual Budgerigar-$1.00
